I'm truly thrilled to be returning for the fifth time (!) to the Sundance Film Festival for the premiere A Futile and Stupid Gesture. (TRAILER HERE)
This movie has been a labor of love, going back eight years, when I was first approached by producers Peter Principato & Jon Stern and screenwriters Michael Colton & John Aboud, to tell the amazing story of Doug Kenney. It's name you might not know, but as the creative engine behind National Lampoon, Animal House and Caddyshack, Doug was a key architect of the comedic sensibility that made me (and countless others) want to do what we do.
I was lucky enough to work with an amazing group of collaborators as well as a ridiculous cast headed up by Will Forte, and including Domhnall Gleeson, Martin Mull, Matt Walsh, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Lennon, Joel McHale, Natasha Lyonne, Seth Green, Matt Lucas, Joe Lo Truglio, Camille Guaty, Jackie Tohn, Paul Scheer, Jon Daly, Nelson Franklin, Elvy Yost, Neil Casey, John Gemberling, Rick Glassman and...there are a lot of others!
For those few of you reading this who might not make it to Park City, the movie will be on Netflix starting January 26th!
